Dr. Vasilas decided at the age of three that she was to become a veterinarian! As she grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and Kobe, Japan, much of her life revolved around animals in one form or another whether it was pet sitting, volunteering at a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center or working as a veterinary technician. In May of 2010, Dr. Vasilas graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and began her veterinary career in Temecula and then Oceanside, CA. She then became the proud owner of Fire Mountain Veterinary Hospital in 2016. She is currently an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, California Veterinary Medical Association and the United States Department of Agriculture. Dr. Vasilas lives in Carlsbad with her husband, Ray and their dogs Angus and Berger. They enjoy spending time outdoors running, fishing and being with friends and family.
Dr. Beth Sperka has always had a passion for all animals, from marine animals and wildlife, to her own cats and dogs. She knew from a young age growing up in Ocean City, Maryland that she wanted to work with animals. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the biological sciences field, becoming certified in human cytogenetics while working for Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the University of Chicago during her studies. She was then accepted into the Western University of Health Science’s veterinary program in 2004, graduating with her DVM in 2008 and has been practicing veterinary medicine in California ever since! She especially enjoys clinical pathology, internal medicine, dental care, and routine wellness examinations. At home, Dr. Sperka and her husband, John, live with several pets of their own. They have two dogs, Brodie and Maia, as well as a pair of lovable cats who go by Zachary and Romeo. In her precious spare time, Dr. Sperka likes catching up on television shows with her husband, reading fiction novels, and writing.
Dr Cramer also decided at a young age that he wanted to become a veterinarian. He grew up active in 4-H, raising cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks and horses. He graduated with a BS from Cornell in 1985, and a DVM from Virginia Tech in 1987. He has practiced in North Carolina, Virginia and Washington before moving to California in 2005. Dr. Cramer has owned four veterinary hospitals, including founding FMVH in 2012 before going into semi retirement in 2016. He has remained active in several rescue groups throughout his career and has fostered over a hundred cats and many dogs. Dr. Cramer lives in Fallbrook with his wife of 29 years, Pia. They have three children, three dogs, four cats, and yes, still have some chickens!

Hi my name is Kristie and I'm from Phoenix, Arizona. I moved to Carlsbad with my family in 2011. I knew from a very young age that I had a great love for animals. I started working in 2002 as a veterinary technician and then took on the role of hospital manager in 2007. I managed that hospital for 4 years and then decided to make the move to California. I joined the team at Fire Mountain Veterinary Hospital in July 2016 and couldn't be more excited. I can't wait to meet all of you and your pets!
Bianca is our newest team member, joining FMVH in October 2016. She is a native of Southern California and currently resides in North County San Diego. She first started working in the veterinary field in 2009 and is currently in the process of obtaining her RVT license. She specifically enjoys dentistry and pharmacology and hopes to specialize in the future.
When she is not working she loves to spend time with her family and her little maltese named Mattie.
Jennifer grew up in North County San Diego with a natural love for all animals. She knew from an early age that working with them was her calling. When she was a young girl, she would rescue injured wildlife and rehabilitate them to good health. At the age of 18, Jennifer found a job as
a veterinary receptionist, worked her way up to veterinary technician and eventually landed with us at FMVH in 2016. Her favorite part about working in veterinary medicine is helping a patient to make a full recovery and educating owners on how to better care for their pets. Jennifer lives in
North County SD with her fiance Andrew, her son Aris, and their 2 senior chihuahuas Nacho & Bella. They enjoy spending time at home with their dogs, watching sports, and trying new vegan recipes.
